The Grade 5 students researched (using Internet, newspapers and books) famous Canadian Politicians who made a significant contribution to Canada. Once their information was gathered, organized and submitted, students followed up with a short oral presentation or skit. Students worked as a team to plan, design and contruct a webpage with Grade 6 students.

Social Studies: - identify the structure of Canada's federal governmnet; - demonstrate an udnerstanding of the components of the federal government; - identify services provided by the federal government; - demonstrate an understanding that for every right there is a responsibility; - identify the significance of early Canadian Member of Parliament; - identify current political leaders (provincial and federal); - demonstrate an understanding of the significance of Canada's official buildings and symbols.

Language Arts: - organize information to convey a central idea, using well developed paragraphs that focus on a main idea and five some relevant supporting details.

Drama: - identify the elements of drama that are best suited for conveying a specific subject or theme.
